We recognize that the cost of programming can be a barrier to a child participating in sport and want to ensure our members know what is available to them. Please review below to find a list of options to help ease the burden because every child should have an opportunity to participate.

The Etobicoke FC Financial Assistance Program is in place for any EFC community member who feels their financial situation might prohibit them from participating in our soccer programs.

The fee assistance program is restricted to the club registration fees only. Applicants are eligible for up to $300 annually for all soccer programs.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart – Individual Child Grant

Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a community based charity grant that assists children in financial need participate in sport. These grants cover a multitude of sport and recreation activities but do not include camps. A maximum of $300 per child is funded to those who are eligible through their application process. There are two application windows – Spring/Summer (Jan 15 – June 1) and Fall/Winter (July 1 – Nov 15). Information can be found here.

Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation

Dreamcatchers goal is to provide all aboriginal children the opportunity at a vibrant life enriched through experiences in the arts, education, health and recreation. The funding is to assist youth to become the leaders of tomorrow and work effectively as a team. For more information on this funding and to apply, please click here.

Easter Seals Recreational Choices Funding

Easter Seals Ontario offers funding for children and youth with physical disabilities between the ages of 5 to 18yo who are not attending their camps. Up to $250 per child/youth is provided for a recreation experience within the province. More information found here.

Kidsport

Kidsport, through both its local chapters and provincial organization, provides grants to children facing financial barriers so they are able to participate in registered sport programs. Through their application process, applicants are eligible to receive up to $250 per annum towards sport & recreational activities for their children. More information can be found here.

Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy (OCFC) Assistive Devices & Activity Funding

The assistive devices funding provides financial assistance for equipment for individuals living with cerebral palsy in Ontario who are registered members of their foundation. They also offer limited funding for their members to participate in structured community activities and camps. For more information, click here.

OPDL Athlete Scholarship

The OPDL athlete scholarship is an application that is open to OPDL players who demonstrate exceptional playing ability, leadership in their community and commitment to their craft. Grants range anywhere from $500 – $1,500 per player and are determined through the application and eligibility process. Click here to learn more.

Their Opportunity

Their Opportunity is a program that serves to educate, uplift and support children to overcome barriers through the strength of sport and generosity. Their program is unique in the fact that it asks those who receive funding through their programs to pay the generosity forward through volunteerism in their community. Click here to learn more.
