2026 PROGRAM | SUMMER SEASON

Overview

The Etobicoke FC Pre-Academy is an introductory development program designed for players aged 5–8, regardless of prior soccer experience or ability level.

Our goal is to build confidence, coordination, and love for the game through age-appropriate training that emphasizes ball mastery, 1v1 moments, and small-sided play in a fun, positive environment.

This program serves as the foundation of Etobicoke FC’s player pathway and helps prepare young players for future Academy and competitive opportunities.

Season Details

• Season Length: 10 weeks

• Season Dates: Week of June 3, 2025 – August 28, 2025

• Ages: 5–8 years old

• Gender: Co-ed

• Ability Level: Open to all players

While we understand a child’s comfort in knowing teammates, we are only able to accommodate one (1) request per player, with respect for all families and the overall balance of the program.

Program Structure

Players participate twice per week, following a balanced learning and play model:

Day 1 – Soccer School (Technical Development)

• Focus on ball mastery and fundamental movement skills

• Dribbling, turning, passing, receiving, and 1v1 situations

• Delivered through fun, guided activities and stations

• Session Length: 1 hour

Day 2 – Game Day (Small-Sided Games)

• Players grouped evenly to ensure equal participation

• Emphasis on creativity, decision-making, and confidence

• Games used as a learning tool—not results-based competition

• Session Length: 40–60 minutes

Schedule & Location

• Soccer School Session:

  • Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

• Game Day Session:

  • Day: Friday

  • Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

  • Location: Dante Alighieri Academy – 2 St Andrews Blvd, Etobicoke, ON M9R 1V8

Final field assignments will be communicated prior to the season start.

Registration & Fees

• Program Fee: $275.00 tax

• Program Length: 10 weeks

• Refunds are subject to the Club’s official refund policy

What Players Need

Parents/guardians are responsible for providing:

• Shin guards (mandatory)

• Soccer cleats (recommended)

• Water bottle for every session

Reusable water bottles are encouraged for hydration and environmental sustainability.

Registration is open for Etobicoke FC’s 2026 Outdoor SELECT Player Program, designed specifically for young players beginning their development journey in a structured, positive, and engaging environment.

Program Overview

The SELECT Program is an introduction to Etobicoke FC’s player development pathway. It provides a fun, age-appropriate, and development-focused environment that emphasizes:

• Fundamental technical skills

• Coordination and movement development

• Team building and social interaction

• Love for the game

Sessions are designed to build confidence, creativity, and comfort with the ball while introducing players to basic game concepts in a supportive setting.

Training & Competition Structure

U6–U7 (2019–2020)

• 3 Technical Training Sessions per Week
  2 hours per session
  Sessions focus on ball mastery, coordination, and fundamental soccer movements. Team-building activities and small-sided games are incorporated into every session.

• 1 League Game per Week
  Age-appropriate league play emphasizing participation, enjoyment, and learning through play.

All training is delivered using small-sided formats to maximize touches, engagement, and decision-making.

Development Focus Areas

• Technical Development
  Dribbling, ball control, passing, shooting, and basic receiving skills

• Physical Literacy
  Agility, balance, coordination, and overall movement skills

• Cognitive & Social Development
  Listening skills, confidence, teamwork, and understanding simple game concepts

  Small-sided games that encourage creativity and enjoyment

Coaching & Environment

• Qualified coaches experienced in early childhood development

Uniform Package (Included)

Players receive an official Etobicoke FC uniform package, including:

• Home Kit (Jersey, Shorts, Socks)

• Away Kit (Jersey, Shorts, Socks)

• Training Kit (Jersey, Shorts, Socks)

Uniform distribution timelines are subject to supplier availability.

Commitment Expectations

Players are expected to attend scheduled training sessions and league games regularly and to participate with a positive attitude. Families are expected to support the program values, adhere to club policies, and maintain respectful sideline behavior at all times.
