GOALKEEPER PROGRAM

2026 PROGRAM | YEAR-ROUND (48 WEEKS)

Overview

The Etobicoke FC Goalkeeper Academy is a specialized development program designed to support goalkeepers through age-appropriate, long-term training aligned with Canada Soccer’s player development principles. Our goal is to develop confident, complete goalkeepers—technically strong, tactically aware, physically prepared, and mentally resilient—while reinforcing that goalkeepers are footballers first.

Training is delivered in an engaging, supportive environment that prioritizes enjoyment, decision-making, and game-based learning over repetitive drills and short-term results.

Coaching & Philosophy

What sets the Etobicoke FC Goalkeeper Academy apart:

  • Training aligned with Canada Soccer’s Long-Term Player Development approach

  • A development-first environment focused on:

    • Enjoyment and confidence

    • Decision-making over drills

    • Game-based training

    • Long-term development over short-term outcomes

  • Goalkeepers supported as complete players—comfortable with the ball, able to organize and communicate, and confident in modern “sweeper-keeper” actions.

Our coaches create a safe space where goalkeepers can learn, make mistakes, and build resilience—key traits for long-term success in the position.
