2025 SUMMER SEASON

Program Overview

The Etobicoke FC Skills Centre is a development-focused program designed for youth players aged 9–12, regardless of ability or experience level. The program provides a fun, inclusive, and challenging environment where players can learn, improve technical skills, and develop a lifelong love for the game.

Rooted in Etobicoke FC’s long-term player pathway and aligned with Canada Soccer and Ontario Soccer Grassroots standards, the Skills Centre emphasizes learning over results, player enjoyment, and gradual development through high-quality coaching and age-appropriate training.

Summer Season Details

  • Season Length: 10-week program

  • Season Dates: TBA (Summer 2025)

  • Ages: 9–12 years old

  • Gender: Co-ed

  • Ability Level: Open to all players

Our summer season is built to keep players active, engaged, and improving throughout the offseason while maintaining a positive and enjoyable soccer experience.

Program Structure

Players will participate twice per week, following a balanced development model that combines technical learning with game play.

Day 1 – Soccer School (Technical Training)

  • Focus on ball mastery and individual skill development

  • Core areas include dribbling, passing, receiving, turning, and finishing

  • Delivered through structured stations and small-sided activities

  • Session Length: 1 hour

Day 2 – Game Day (Small-Sided Games)

  • Games used as an extension of training, not competition results

  • Players are grouped evenly to maximize involvement and development

  • Emphasis on decision-making, teamwork, and applying learned skills

  • Session Length: 40–60 minutes

This structure ensures players receive high contact time with the ball and meaningful game experiences every week.

Development Philosophy

The Skills Centre follows a development-first approach:

  • No standings or results-based evaluation

  • No fixed A/B teams

  • Open and flexible player grouping based on readiness and confidence

  • Equal opportunity for learning and growth

We aim to keep as many players involved in the game as possible while supporting their technical, physical, and personal development in a safe and positive environment.

Payment Options

  • Online payment via credit card (Visa & Mastercard accepted)

  • Credit card payment is strongly encouraged

  • Refunds are subject to the Club’s official refund policy

What Players Need

Parents are responsible for providing:

  • Shin guards (mandatory)

  • Soccer cleats (recommended)

  • Water bottle for every session

Reusable water bottles are encouraged for hydration and environmental sustainability.

Volunteering

Volunteers play an important role in our House League and Skills Centre programs.

If you are interested in volunteering:

  1. Indicate your interest during online registration

  2. Club staff will contact you closer to the season start

  3. All volunteers must comply with Ontario Soccer’s volunteer screening policy
